James Hausman is an English teacher at South Fayette HS in McDonald, PA. He attended a summer 2016 Infosys and MakerEd Makerspace Possibilities Workshop at Autodesk's Pier 9 facility in San Francisco and emerged as an avid maker and advocate for design thinking in the classroom ever since. He advises South Fayette's STEAM and TSA clubs. Their work has won several awards and been featured on NPR. He loves Shakespeare, modernist poetry, design thinking in education, and he passionately pursues storytelling by design, even writing an elective course of the same name at his school. When he's not asking students deep questions in English class, he likes to travel to far flung locales, hike with his sons for mountain top views, read anything in front of him, seek out new birds he hasn't yet seen, or sit on his deck drinking coffee next to his amazing wife.
